Are you ashamed of your smile because of crooked or crowded teeth? Have you been avoiding treatment because you don’t want to wear traditional braces? Well, we would like to let you know that there is another option available that is equally effective and more comfortable. And that is Invisalign.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an aligner that is used for orthodontic treatment and custom-made to fit a patient’s mouth perfectly. It takes about six to eighteen months to straighten a patient’s teeth, based on the severity of the misalignment. These aligners are used to align a person’s teeth correctly for a perfect smile.

What is the procedure of Invisalign?

If you’re considering to opt for Invisalign treatment in Edison, then you should know about the process before committing to it.

1.Planning

The very first thing that you must do is consult a qualified dentist to make sure that Invisalign is the right option for you. Once the dentist establishes that you are a suitable candidate, he/she will begin by taking digital images and X-rays of your teeth. These images would be used to make the various sets of Invisalign aligners.

2. Wearing the aligners

Once the aligners are ready, your dentist will instruct you on how to wear them. Each set of aligners must be worn at least 22 hours a day for two weeks and removed while eating or brushing. After the two weeks, you would be required to switch to the next set of aligners while regularly visiting your dentist.

3. Wearing the retainer

Once you are done with the aligners, you would be given a retainer that you must wear according to the given instructions.
